Activator Technique
Your Chiropractor will provide alternative procedures for precise adjustment control

While the adjustments your chiropractor does are often performed using a swift, low-force “manual” spinal pressure, we also deploy the Activator Technique when and if appropriate. The Activator Technique is an alternative procedure that uses a small, hand-held instrument called an Activator Adjusting Instrument. There Activator delivers gentle, targeted impulse force to the Subluxated area, allowing finer control of adjustment pressure.

Two advantages believed to be associated with Activator Chiropractic Technique are speed and precision. The Activator motion is so swift that surrounding muscle tissue is less likely to respond or tense up—helping to increase effectiveness of care. The second advantage is that the localized force adds no unnecessary bending or movement to the affected and surrounding joints.
